If you're Andrew Newberg, you can call it straight-up spirituality, because you're not interested in beating around the bush. Dr. Andrew Newberg is a radiologist at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital whose has made it his life's work to explore spirituality using neuroimaging tools. Long before I took my turn in his SPECT scanner, Newberg had scanned Tibetan Buddhist monks deep in meditation, Franciscan nuns praying the rosary, and Pentecostals speaking in tongues.
