EU-Parlament beschließt Cybersicherheitsgesetz mit Meldepflicht | #CyberSecurity #ICT #Laws

EU-Parlament beschließt Cybersicherheitsgesetz mit Meldepflicht | #CyberSecurity #ICT #Laws | ICT Security-Sécurité PC et Internet | Scoop.it

GCHQ Internet Monitoring Was Illegal As It Breached Human Rights Laws: Court | Europe

GCHQ Internet Monitoring Was Illegal As It Breached Human Rights Laws: Court | Europe | ICT Security-Sécurité PC et Internet | Scoop.it
The mass surveillance of the Internet conducted by the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), a British intelligence and security organization, was unlawful, according to a ruling by the Investigatory Powers Tribunal (IPT), a secretive court that was created to monitor Britain’s intelligence agencies.

According to the IPT ruling, GCHQ’s access to information, intercepted by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA), violated Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects the right to a private and family life. In addition, the GCHQ spying also breached the rights to a fair trial, The Independent reported, adding that the latest court ruling could eventually allow people to ask GCHQ to delete any information.

#Privacy and #Security Issues for the Usage of Civil #Drones

#Privacy and #Security Issues for the Usage of Civil #Drones | ICT Security-Sécurité PC et Internet | Scoop.it

In December, Amazon.com, the world's largest online retailer, announced that it is testing unmanned drones to deliver products ordered by its customers.

The principal problem is the fragmentation of law across the EU. In Europe, basic national safety rules are applied and it is important to uniform them within a share regulatory.

“Civil drones can check for damage on road and rail bridges, monitor natural disasters such as flooding and spray crops with pinpoint accuracy. They come in all shapes and sizes. In the future they may even deliver books from your favourite online retailer. But many people, including myself, have concerns about the safety, security and privacy issues relating to these devices,”said Vice-President Siim Kallas, Commissioner for mobility and transport.

Europe is looking at the technology for civil drones as a business and economic opportunity that could bring operational advantages and job creation. The sector in the next 10 years could be worth 10% of the aviation market – that’s €15 billion per year.

Europe's high court says ISPs can hand over alleged pirate data

Europe's high court says ISPs can hand over alleged pirate data | ICT Security-Sécurité PC et Internet | Scoop.it

The European Court of Justice says that Sweden's laws have no barriers in place that would preclude an ISP from sharing an alleged pirates' data with rightsholders.

Those on both sides of the argument have debated the legality of sharing IP addresses with copyright holders since 2009, when the so-called IPRED law went into effect in Sweden. The statute provides for ISPs to reveal a person's IP address whenever he or she is charged with pirating multimedia.

Under the law, a court must decide if an IP address should be released, and that can only happen if rightsholders head to court and argue their case.
